Hi there recently found a sports bike backbox in my garage left from my step dads old bike (yam phaser 600) I was considering fitting it to my vtr. How would it fit tho as it's a bit short. I'm assuming a welding and weld some brackets off a normal exhaust onto it. How would it effect noise ad it has no baffles
Sports bike can onto vtr

#2my mate put a bike can onto a run around 106 and sounded the muts nuts
-
#3Was his a standard can or a sports can as this was deafening on the bike. I'd also be running it with decat straight through system and a 4-1 mani
-
#4I would say it will probably get you an ASBO.
-
#5that loud huh?
-
#6It will be loud to be honest mate if uve got 4-1 mani and decat hahahaha
Worth a try tho
-
#7lol fair play
. what about a standard bike one? or would that just be pointless?
-
#8Never tried fitting a standard can. You would get an idea on sound if you just try and hold it on the exhaust pipe.
-
#9My mate had a bike exhaust on his AX GT and it ran like shit. It had no back pressure what so ever.
-
#10hmmm yeah ill try holding it against the tailpipe. i i cant trial fit it tho as itll involve getting it welded on with a set of jublees holding it up lol
-
#11I was thinking of doing this to my old VTR. think id would be awsome

#12My mates got a 1.4 8v polo which he's putting a GSXR bike can on, can get a video of it when he's done if you want, give you an idea ?
The way he's doing it is getting the headers for the exhaust an welding them on to his exhisting pipe
-
#13yes mate if you could that'll be greatQuote:My mates got a 1.4 8v polo which he's putting a GSXR bike can on, can get a video of it when he's done if you want, give you an idea ?

. yeah i was gonna go scrappy and get a bit of old pipe and extend the pipe with the old exhaust pipe. put a pipe reducer on and weld onto the existing pipe
. should work well IMO
