Important! : Engine swap

Hi my head gaskit has gone there for i have a mk1 engine ready to be fittrd to my mk2 .... One problem
im stuck on is the carbs and throttle body is diffrent ..can i do this .A keep my mk2 throttle body ..B take my engine out C reffit mk1 in mk2 with the mk1 throttle body off the mk1 and basic fit my mk2 throttle body to mk1 engine is this right can i do this and will it work ??? Can any one help pls??????

Ok, well if you were to keep the new engine in with the new TB you would have to change some of the fuels system including pump, regulator, lines. and i assume you are changing the ECU and loom aswell??

No i was just gona swap the engine strate over take the whole throttle boday off Mk1 leave in car and just plug mk2 on to it with the exsisting throotle and injecters because they all fit each other the alternator plugs rear wire and sensors rewire as there diffrent carnt this be done like this ???
