Got two round screwin connecters at the end of the loom but only have one round connecter plug on my vtr loom, im stuck!!, is it cuz I got a pug gti engine or is it the same on the vts? What do I need to do? Thanks people if u can help me out!

    It's because it's a pug engine

So if I get a vts loom would that sort it out? An I had spark plug leads on my vtr and on the gti engine is a coil pack! Would the loom sort that out or do I need an 16v engine with spark plug leads?? Or are all 16v vts/gti
    engines coil packs?? Thanx

i can get hold of a vts loom off ebay but from a 51 plate vts will it work on the r reg engine??

    doubt it.

depends weather its made for a single or three plug ecu im guessing it will be to new to be a single plug

welshpug, was your 309 at pencoed car show about 2-3 months ago?

You need a 16v engine loom single plug. if your ecu on the 106 loom is currently single plug you will not need a new coil pack. If its 3plug you will need a new coilpack and a few other sensors from a single plug engine

after 2000 it went to 3 plug so it would be no good you will need a pre < 2000 vts loom

you cant have a clear cut date on some 3plug vs single plug since some sat unregistered and the likes though. If it is 3 plug he will want a new ecu, loom, coilpack, tps, knock sensor, water temp, oil temp and possibly reverse sensor. Some of the wiring can be adjusted to suite, for example the alternator wirings different too but he will 100% need to swap the coil and tps sensor.

You can wire a 3 plug into a single plug car though, or vice versa it just requires them to be fairly versed in reading the wiring diagrams for both looms

You can alter the wiring on the coilpack, to make it work
think 2 wires just need swapping

it just number 3-4 cable on the coil pack you need to swop around

Yep tis true, it does mean having a thin wire for the live though rather than the thick one iirc. Not ideal

there is a clear date, build code, not registered on date

Naah not mine, someone down in that area has one too, I think the same guy has a 205 1FM and a caged Turbo Technics 205.

Mine has only been on the road the last month, before that parked up for 3 and a bit years.
