Wide Arch Body Kit.

  1. #1

Am I right in thinking this is all i need to get rid of all that nasty-ass plastic?

Also, can I just paint it myself? I've heard resprays cost a bomb.

    Thanks in advance.

PS: I do have another plans, this wont be the first thing, so it wont be running around like that with a body kit .

VT kit and depends how good you are at spraying, and prepping
  4. #4
i aint a fan of bodykits tbh and i wouldnt paint it myselfif its a large area like that
  5. #5
    VT kit if anything
    dont spray yourself

To do it properly and for it to look good you'll need atleast £2,000.

You can not go for the bodykit style on the cheap. Its why the scene died, too many 17 year olds with wood screws, duct tape and cheap spray cans. I know i tried it myself once but shh lol.

My advice, i'm guessing you're quite young.. Drive the crappy flat arch for a year or two, do a couple of subtle mods. Only do subtle mods you can take off in a couple years and sell, put car to standard, sell car. Buy a better version, VTR/VTS.

Well it's not actually possible to get anywhere near £2000, especially when I go back to school =/.

I've already planned for Alloys, Window Tints, front and rear lights. Should i just leave it at that and leave the plastic (which I hate)?

slam it on some nice wheels.
    t-cut badges
    remove rear wiper

then you will have a little nice car

As stated above, one cheap nice mod that you would like would be a VTR/S body kit.

Have a look at Mr Houstons thread, one sec i'll get you the link

Have a read of this progress thread:
    http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=181438

That should give you some inspiration.

Heres a guide to fitting the VTR/S bodykit

Hope this helps you mate, i wasn't meaning to have a go with the previous posts. But as you can imagine we get these threads day in and day out lol.

No worries mate, and good luck with the modifying.

Remember not to spend too much money on your first car, you will most likely end up regretting it in a couple years.

    Feedback?

no, they look like there fresh from halfords

The problem with these wheels is that they will show just how puny your brakes are. Try and get something that's more "filled in", or try vtr/s brakes if your car is 4 stud - it's a simple conversion.

It is 4 stud. How much are vtr/s brakes?

I always think spending a load of money on a 1.1 is a waste if your going to upgrade anyways when your insurance drops...

How about waiting a year, and getting some NCB, and then getting a VTR. Im paying £1100 a year for mine and Im 18.

As said before, lowering, de-wipering (doesnt really make much difference in the rain), t-cutting the badges (making them black).

If your hearts really set on the 1.1, and kit off a furio, VTR or VTS willl fit on. And those wheels are not my cup of tea at all.

Hmmm, I really do like the sound of a VTR. Will the insurance really go down that much with 1 years NCB?

Maybe i'll just leave the body kit, but do some other things so i can sell on?

i got my vtr when i had 1ncb and it was only £900 and when i got my 2ncb it dropped down to £600 cant wait for my 3rd ncb to come through!! lol

Please don't put those wheels on they are chavtastic, Just get some VTS wheels, and lower it, And with the bodykit just no that scene has been and gone.
