If you got the funds the best brakes are a decent lightwieght alloy set of 4 pots like wilwoods or 406 brembos ect... Realistically with discs, pads, hoses and calipers it can cost around £300-£800.

But budget wise the gti-6 caliper can be picked up for £60-80, theres two types: the bosch 266mm, and the lucas 283mm. The lucas not only have a bigger disc but a much bigger piston they are pretty much the best single pots you can fit to a saxo imo.

The 266mm will fit under 14" and the 283mm under 15". Both will need the carrier grinding about 5mm. Once you got the calipers discs is the easy bit. Gti-6 discs fit saxos no issues at all so just buy the related discs. Usually if you search gti-6 is will tell you what type of caliper the discs are for by either saying lucas (or 283mm) or bosch (or 266m). You will need custom brake lines that are slightly longer but theres kam racing or swampy on sax-p that can sort you those out for around £40 delivered. Plain discs and oem mintex can be as cheap as £60. But obviously there better stuff out there.

Same with the brake pads. I hope that helps.

E3D, I have some BOSCH 283mm brakes next to me now, and I sold some Lucas 266mm ones last week.

BOTH manufacturers made BOTH 283mm and 266mm calipers, with slight variations in the carriers and discs used.

To be clear, GTi-6 uses 283mm Lucas calipers. Newer cars like 206 GTi180 use the BOSCH 283mm calipers with a thicker disc.

There are literally loads of cars that use both types of 266mm kit.

Ye the lucas are the 306 gti-6 the bosch are normal 306.

No, BOSCH make the later 206 and 306 calipers, in both sizes.

Lucas make 'normal' 306 calipers aswell, and are in fact much much more frequent than the BOSCH ones.

    That's not correct mate.

The gti-6 never came with 266mm discs only 283mm.
