Electric Superchargers

is it worth putting one of these on on my 98 mk1 vtr ?
they say that they increase horsepower and are better for fuel ?
and are they easy to fit ?
    cheers
  2. #2
    yeah worth every penny

my mate put one on a mk2 vtr with a backbox its now running 136bhp
  3. #3
if you put it on backwards it cleans the engine
  4. #4
how can something that give your car more power and more speed (alledgedly) save fuel?

    totall shite my friend
most likely cheap crap from china (irrelevant of what the listing says) it'll run for so long
    then shatter wrecking your engine.

    this is just my opinion.
go for the propper thing or dont bother
  5. #5
i heard the combo of these and lexus lights add 50bhp!

I would destroy you for even asking such a retarded question. But I'm feeling generous.

There is no such thing. These so called supercharges fuck your engine up completely, and run them at such stupid ranges, and I have seen people have numerous problems from blown head gaskets to ruined sumps.

Think about it. For such a piece of cheap shit, why would people spend thousands of pounds on quality mod's that increase hp a fair bit? If a supercharger like that suddenly increased it, ALL the manufacturers would use it. But they don't because it's utter shit.

If you want to get more HP, you pay good money for it. Never heard of "cheap HP gain" tbh. Next thing you'll be saying a little black box that you simply strap on to your fuel pipe increases HP by 25...

Steer clear of these bullshit mods. FOR LIFE.

lol exactly, if you got amazing power gains dont you think a car company who spend millions in research and development wouldn't have clocked on to it by now?

buy one and fit it to your vacuum cleaner

i really hope you are taking the piss, no was has he got 137 bhp out of a VTR by fitting an electric supercharger. lol

RR'd at FCS, think 1,000,000 bhp is optimistic but my backbox is a 9" slash cut as 45 degrees, that little back pressure you can see the gasses dribbling out

    its s1k bruddddah!

you should keep the money in your wallet thats what..

With a very quick and rough calculation the VTR will flow 96 cubic feet/minute of air (i've guessed volumetric efficiency etc)

Then work out the computer fan / electric supercharger
flow rate (in cfm) = Cross sectional area (in sq. ft) * Velocity (ft/minute)

I'm sure the details are available on their website.
(My maths are probably as dodgy as the supercharger )

If its is this then it will work
    http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/04..._supercharger/
    based on an eaton supercharger....
if it looks like a computer fan then its shit.

a little 60mm diameter PC cooling fan flows only about 18 cubic feet per minute
the VTR needs 96 cubic feet per minute at 6500rpm
  35. #35
Yes i say get one, especially after all the positive comments and great reviews from everyone!! If you do post up some pictures for all to rofl!!!!!

If you have to ask weather or not you should buy an electric supercharger I really don't think you would be capable of wiring the thing. lol
