squeeky breaks

hey iv had this problem for a while now tbh all my pads and disks are fine but when coming to a stop with the breaks it squeeks doesnt do it at good speed just when im going slow it also seems to be getting abit worse and doing it when i turn left slightly. any ideas? i was thinking i might give my callipers a good clean to try and help. problem is when i got the new front disks and pads i got a mintex pack maybe its these? never had the problem untill i put these on

Did you use the brake grease? Usually squealing happens as a result of under-lubricated and dry brake mechanisms. Best course of action is to put some copper grease behind the mechanism itself, should sort it out. Sorted my old Saxo out perfectly.

yeah i didnt do it but it did get copper grease behind the pads and watched him clean it up abit. i suppose another try wont hurt though just dont really have the kit or any copper grease to do it. just checking there isnt any other things it could be

Hopefully it shouldn't be anything more major than that mate. If you were near me I'd have popped over and given you a hand.

Just make sure you don't get ANY at all on the actual brake surface or disk. Probably would be easier to take it apart though.

Sometimes its the make of pads even with copper grease on they squeel.Try a different make.

Mintex pads were fine on my VT brakes

As said, copper grease is your friend

i think this must be the case maybe they where dodgy ones as i saw them put on and plenty of copper grease was used. dont get why it would do it abit when i turn left at slow speeds though

got exactly the same problem mate. Originally i took them back off and realised there wasnt much C grease on them at all, So i took them back off, Greased the fuck out the backs of the pads, Cleaned the discs and everything with brake cleaner... Worked for a few weeks and started squaking again .. same as you too, When turning and braking its worse. Still stops the car, although the annoying noise gets on ya tits.

Im told its just the quality of the pads, Some are shitter than other, All i know is i wont be going my local spares shop for Discs n pads again.... Oh well i suppose there done now, they'll get me through an MOT.
