ive got a westcoast 1.4 its pretty standard at the moment other than a rage backbox and k&n induction kit. But! next week im decating it and getting a bmc air filter for it. Because standard i think its bout 80bhp what will the decat and the bmc take it up to?
BHP what will i get?

#2about 82
nah dunno, wont be massive though

#3cos someone told me bout 5 bhp for the decat and bout 4 for the bmc cos there very high performance. I mean the plan is to get it up to 100 bhp. But other than those 2 mods im doing next week what else could i do without putting to much strain to the engine.Quote:Originally Posted by baz_saxoabout 82

its a 1.4 8v mate you'll get nowhere near 9 bhp for a few breathing mods
if your serious about wanting a faster saxo save up for a vtr or vts -
#6Ive go a BMC on my westcoast and his had made difference, but like the others say, you cant squeeze much power out of the engine.
If your serious about it, get the de cat, supersprint manifold, bmc and run the exhaust straight through, you might give a Vtr a run for its money then!!
-
#7but your looking at upto £1000 for all of that, save the money for a faster car!!
-
#8maximum bhp from them mods wud be 5bhp
-
#9turbo it and waste vtrs and vts....
-
#10u will hardly achieve 100bhp easily in a 1.4 seen as a vtr is only 90 to start with and thats a 1.6 (or 98 for later models). Also furios have 75BHP not 80
so id expect with those mods ull only gain about 3-4bhp max which you wont notice in the slightest.
I wasted loads of money on trying to mod and make my other saxos faster untill i realised it was easier and cheaper just to get a vtr! -
#11exactly, all you will notice is that it revs more freely due to better inductionQuote:Originally Posted by DarylVTRu will hardly achieve 100bhp easily in a 1.4 seen as a vtr is only 90 to start with and thats a 1.6 (or 98 for later models). Also furios have 75BHP not 80

#12Seriously, all that would only get you 4-5bhp? Like a gullible twat i believed that id be looking at 10-12bhp!!
Unless you want to do all that and then completly strip the car there isnt much point i suppose... Even then thats alot of £s per Bhp.. -
#13drop a v8 in the boot lol

#14Got to agree with you on that one!Quote:Originally Posted by Nick_Westcoastbut your looking at upto £1000 for all of that, save the money for a faster car!!
