Water system problem.....

    I've just changed my radiator on my S1 106 with S lump and when I turn the car off water starts pissing out the radiator cap (the little overflow hole underneath it) and when it's cooled down there's harldy any water left in the fill up tank???? What's going on?

    Your radiator cap is passing water, the little hole is the overflow for when the system is too hot and over pressurised. As the seal on your cap is goosed it is just pi$$ing out at lower, normal working, pressure as well

    Sounds like the seal on your pressure cap is worn out mate........

    It's not coming out the pressure cap Neil, it's pissing out a tiny hole underneath that. I'm guessing that's the overflow??

    ye thats the overflow mate when you put to much water in or when it overheats, shouldnt piss water out tho, unless your absolutely ragging your car ? ..

    bleed the water system? air lock maybe

    if not then when my water system was pressurising it was a shot head gasket!
