would this cause a noise?

I've got a bit off a problem with my saxo(2001,vtr)
what it is.usualy when i park up i hear a slight bang coming from the front drivers side wheel,it only happens when im driving slowly, when im nearly at full lock(to the right)and when im strainghtning the wheels back up.
I've had it jacked up earlyer but could find anything a miss, the wheel nuts are tight, theres no play when wobbling the wheel,no play in the cv joint,i've bounced on the front end(shocker)and i look for visable sign's of damage/impacts from whatever it is causing the noise.
the problem ive got is i could'nt get it to make that noise while its parked/jacked up as i was by myself.

the only thing i did find wrong was this(im unsure what the technical name for it is)

should this be full of grease because there aint much in mine, and would this cause a banging noise?

    cheers in advance!!

That may be your problem ! That part would be your drop link. You can get a new one from Euro car parts or most other a like car part shops. They cost no more than £15 notes and are universal for both sides ( R.E you can buy one and use it on either side). This should hopefully cure your knocking problem.

    Hope this helps

Yes they do tend to cause a knocking noise when they've gone.

do i jack up the car, undo the old 1(2xbolts),then just stick the new 1 on?(is it as easy as it sounds?)

Yep. Well, to an extent, getting the old bolts off isn't easy, until you take the grinder to them...

i had this problem, turned out it was the coil spring that popped out the top mount and made a bang sound when i turned the wheel could only really see it when its jacked up though
