I have just changed the rad on my mk 2 saxo vtr (2001) now when its running the fan will kick in and but the temp keeps rising until the red light comes on! i have felt the pipe going in to the rad and it seem to be cool and the one at the top of the rad going to thermostat is cool as well, can any one help?

keep bleeding it through, can take some time before all the air is worked out of the system

so just keep getting it hot and releasing the air throught the valve on top of rad and the valve with the valve cap top left of engine?

And leave the cap off when you are doing it, lots of bubbles should come up (not Greeks!) seriously

It doesnt need to be hot to bleed it, the engine doesnt even need to be running. Find the guide on here, it may be in the FAQ's, articles or somewhere on the forum here.

Failing that go get a Haynes manual. When you refillied it you should have removed the cap/screws from the three bleed points. Theres one on the radiator, one on the thermostat and one at the top of the engine (coolant matrix hose).

When filling it, water will come out the radiator one first. When you see that then re-fit the screw, then keep an eye on the thermostat. Once luquid appears from there, re-fit that screw. Keep filling and keep and eye on the third bleed point. Once water appears there then re-fit the cap and fill the haeder tank on the radiator to a reasonable level.

Take the car for a 20 mile or so drive, let the engine go cold then re-check the water level and top up if needed
