Front chassis bent?

  1. #1
Last night i had an encounter with a heavily overweight/pregnant badger and with its own life it took part of the saxo with it...

Ive posted pictures to give a better idea of the damage but does anyone know how much it would cost to fix and what type of work it would involve.

    Cheers guys!

Not too bad but that will have to be jigged out!

cut front crossmember out, porta power between chassis legs, jack them out into place, weld new crossmember in, simple job that we have done many many times, crossmember is made of tin foil!!

Jigged out? Like just rive it out? Or is it a case of cutting and welding?

shouldn't need going near a jig as it looks like the only damage is crossmember and possibly the very ends of the legs have a very slight twist in them. cut crossmember out and spread the legs back into place, check bonnet gaps align with the wings and replace the crossmember which is welded in

Sounds like a bit too much wokr for me on my own really... I will get a garage to look at it sometime this week. What kindof price am i looking at?

crossmember is approx £35 iirc, couple of hours labour to replace and jack legs into place, with us you'd be looking at approx £120 supplied and fitted, difficult to be 100% accurate from a photo but is an easy repair in the grand scale of things

Got a quick quote from a local bodyshop today and he said if i can supply the parts (crossmember) he'll do it at 25 quid an hour which he assures me wont take long. So that means i need to find a cross member for sale somewhere.

Where should i be looking? Are they easy to remove or do they need to be cut off? Can i buy one new from a dealer?

Sorry for so many questions i just need to get my head around the whole procedure...

    Cheers dudes!
