gearbox problem?

   im finding it pretty hard to get in reverse. it takes me 3 or 4 attempts. kinda feels like the is something stopping/ blocking the change. also when slowing down and trying 4th the same can happen. Ive been told by a mechanic my clutch is fine, and it could be gear linkage. getting a new part tomorow, shouldi ask to get my gearbox looked at or will i just get rinsed on parts?

   im having this problem to, along with the notchy change into second. my reverse does exactly this though, i try ot four or five times, most of the time it wont work unless i take my foot off the clutch and then press it again

   common problem, try slotting it into 1st or 3rd before engaging reverse i always go first-reverse and its fine
