Important! : gloss black panels

    right ive done one side but i dont think its come out the best but then im not a sprayer, do u think i should carry on with the other side and front and back bumper or stop now and go to a bodyshop??
    or is there a way i can like buff them up to make them shiny??

    mine have come up an almost matt colour if you got the clear coat from halfords its CRAP!!! you may as well just put back to black on them lol .. try a different paint which is a high gloss finish along with clear coat .. if all elice fails bodyshop sorry to say mate .. or if you know any one with a compresser .. buy a spray gun and the right paint .. that is what i am doing .. it works out cheaper

    also how much do u think it would cost to do it at a bodyshop?

    don;t quote me but doesn;t a matt black spray come up shinier and glossier than an already gloss spray after lacquering? pretty sure i read this somewhere, the shineir and glossier the finish u want the more matt and dull u want it before the lacquer?

    check my progress thread i did mine and came out really shiny alot of sanding and prep first and will be fine

    so if i use matt first instead of gloss it should come out better??

    If you want them propper shiny, go to a bodyshop

    progress

    i did it this way

    1.sand down with 400 grit
    2 sand down with 800 grit
    2 sand down with 1000 grit

    then spray with water and sand with 1200 grit
    and then wipe down and spray with primer 4 coats of then black i didnt use primer on mine

    Don't use a Matte black unless you want them to looks standard, cheek my thread I done them with gloss black from halfrauds

    Bodyshops after painting use a compound to buff and bring up the shine. Then polish. walaa

    don't need to buff them if they painter is any good, generally buffing is done after wet sanding to remove orange peel/dirt in paint
