r888's

  1. #1
next step for track project, now i was adament is was going to use a048's due to the slighlty stiffer sidewall, but after lots of reading about both these tyres it really seems im not really going to tell the difference....

    i have found 4x r888 for £278 delivered (185/60r14)

    is this a decent price?

    james

p.s have been looking at group buy on these but last time i looked price had not been confirmed

    That's a fucking awesome price!!!

I don't run that size but think my last set was around £240 excluding tax but they where 15” . Personally if you could get the A048 for similar money I would go for them every time. I would warn you though that if pushing a long none of them would last you long at all.

I go for 888's every time. Just watch it in the wet, the car will aquaplane quite bad at times. Immense tyres in the dry though!

That's a great price, especially since the prices have shot up.

The Yoko wears alot better from what i've heard but I reckon you'll struggle to make it up £ for £ if you've found a set of Toyo's for that price.

    I wouldn't mind a set too

Will have to ask again but I was recomended another less known brand at the last track day I went to by somebody, cant for the life of me remember what it was though

They apperently make alot of tyres for people in rallying circles etc

what website you looking at ?

Thats very cheap if they'll sell them to you for that - I'd say that the website prices were out of date, and they are around £100 a tyre now.

Yeah i'll give them a ring when I get up tomorrow morning. Can't see it being an up to date list, website looks a little dodgy with spelling mistakes etc.

tried calling them on the 08 number but it says that the number is not excepting calls at present, also tries the other number from ebay shop but that one is just ringing and ringing... will keep trying though...

just curious, i currently have 185/55r14 fitted, would 185/60r14 be ok to fit, am i right in thinking it is just a bigger sidewall
