Will this combo work?

Well i changed from 4th to 5th at high speed and it took a few second for the clutch to grip so i've decided on a new set up just want confirmation it will work

Vts lump > 4 paddle clutch (for VTS) > 1.4 XSi/rallye gearbox with LSD?

I assume as theyre all small block there should be no problems in having that setup?

Yep, Should work like a charm

Will all the bolts marry up? Cause I put a 1.2 box on my 1.6 corsa and only 3/4 bolts from the bell housing matched the block compared to the 7/8 that are there on the standard one.. Also are these 'quick shifters' any cop or do they just kill your gearbox?

Any 106/saxo box will work on any engine. You'll need a 200mm clutch for a vts though.

I haven't had any experience with quickshifts personally, but ive never heard anything bad about them.

I thought that they would be the same as slapping it into gear really fast... Will look into them anyway.

I want sequential but i dont get paid enough :-((

Im pretty sure all they do is shorten how far you have to move the gear leaver to create the same amount of movement at the selector arm, I cant think of a way that would effect the force with which it selects the gear.

Im sure someone more enlightened will correct me if im wrong.

Im pretty sure they just alter the linkages in such a way that you have to move the gear leaver less to achieve the same amount of movement at the selector arm. I doubt that would amplify the force with which it selects the gear.

Aye but if you move the gearknob at the same speed over a shorter distance the selector will be moving into place faster which may damage the internals of the box, could just be me worrying too much though!

Good point, I hadn't even considered that I couldn't comment any further really as I have no experience with them. But as I say, ive never heard anything on here about a box failing due to a quickshift, I wouldn't worry too much mate

some shifters are pants for build quality/design

but ive not come across one killing a box
it could ad stress to the syncros but ive even seen some people (i call them retards) run 2 seperate shifters one on the stick and a linkage extension and the box survived allthough the throw fely horrible

the only one i trust is the b&m shifter
