will the loom and ecu from a 1998 106 quiksilver run a vtr engine if the vtr inlet and injectors are used aswell???? i know the inlet should have an extra sensor but many people use the inlet on the quiksilvr engine so that isnt a problem. just thinking will it fuel right?

ive asked before but got mixed results off people. i want a defo answer before i atmpt to put the engine in my car.

i have the loom with the engine but part of it is cut off and im quite shure the ecu would need unlocking.

I would asume that it would run as the ecu would not no it is a bigger engine but it would also not no bigger injectors were being used but is the timing the same on the quiksilver as the vtr?

if it would run would if affect performance? some answers would be great.

    thank you. mark

To save problems later on personally i'd use the VTR loom mate, or source another one. The ECU from my little knowledge of french im sure you would need to use a VTR ECU due to the map. The VTR has bigger bores the the quicky so therefore the fuel/air ratio would differ on the ECU's map.

I could be wrong though, as they look to be pretty much the same engine...

well to be honest i was hoping it would so i dont have to get a new loom and unlocked ecu and then pay the extra £200 the garage wants to splice the looms together or sumot. then the £200 they want just to put the engine in.

so looks like its going be more expensive than i fort.

how much is the going price for an unlocked ecu and loom? and whats the going rate for labour if not done in a garage. I asume there is atleast someone on here that doesn conversions?

If you're from Crewe i know a chap near Burnley that does VTS conversions for as little as £450 which is a drive in drive out service, he provides the donor car and you get a second to none conversion! I can get his number for you if you like...
