car burning bit oil on start up stem seals?

   alrite peeps
   every now and then not every time mostly if i leave the car for about 3-4 days with out starting and only happens on cold starts never on warm i burn i really really small amount of oil for about 3-5secs could it be the stem seals are abit worn i dont get any smoke when driving along or get any smoke when sitting still was wondering if it might be worth putting some of that oil additive in to see if would re do the seals think it worth a shot for a fiver?

   Worth it for a fiver yes. Change seals later when you get a chance.

   sounds like it could be seals
   
   if it smokes under load (which you said it doesnt) it could be the rings
   
   if it smokes coming down the revs on over run it could be the seals

   it only smokes on a COLD start up dont get it any other time and its only for bout 3 secs have tried it under load and it dont seem to do it so was thinking it was the seals aint alot its just like a drop i reckon and i aint lost any oil since ive done my oil change its only just under the max and has been like that for a while so dont think it is burning it as such
