Sensible max performance predictions on a VTR engine..

   Hi guys,
   
   Does anyone have suggestions on the max bhp and torque that could be produced from rebuilding and doing the obvious engine and management modification such as, new ecu with full remap, wild cam, ported and polished head, low comp pistons etc.. What else would you suggest in addition to these mods?

   Aim for a good power to weight ratio. Everyone will say save your money and drop a 16v in there

   with low comp pistons you'll want a turbo or supercharger to compliment them

   Yea I was looking in fitting a VTS in but the insurance is a nightmare!

   Well that's it, it's either trying to fit a vts in and get insured on it.. Or fit a supercharger to the vtr! What would you suggest the bhp would reach on a supercharged vtr with all the above done to it...

   The insurence will be about the same when they find out your messing around with your vtr engine.

   well maybe around 200atw if you s/c the 8v or 150+ atw if you s/c a 16v - how long is a piece of string though, could be any sort of figures tbh.
   
   with throttle bodies you'll have high compression pistons, with boost you'll want low compression pistons.

   just drop a turbo conversion from cituning and a few other mod's i.e bigger intercooler, possibly injectors and then re-map should make good bhp
