    What is the sound deadening stuff inside a standard back box and is it ok to touch with bare skin because I will be making my own back box and then making a "how to" thread on how I went with making it

    Play it safe, wear gloves and long sleeves. If you wanna go the whole hog get a face mask too.

    All depends what there full off. There are a selection things it could be full of some are quite strong irritants. Until you work out what its full of gloves, dust mask and goggles is always a good plan. Though saying that I have never used any of that when packing a silencer.

    fibre glass, e glass,

    no harm will come other than itching from the bits that stick in like a splinter !!!

    some of my lads go home looking like they walked through a cobweb!

    different quality of product will last longer, the old stuff that is brown is cheap and nasty and very fine this will blow out of the box in no time at all

    we use expensive packing in ours it has a much higher brake down temp, and is like carpet so it will not blow out,
    we also wrap the perferated tube in wire wool to prolong any bits from blowing through at all!
