lack of power/studdering

   in first gear when im accelerating my car sometimes lacks power and the studders and jumps back to giving my power any idea what this could be?

   ive got the same problem mate but changed coilpack lambda sensor and cleaned icv but nothing has changed. good luck mate if i find out i'lllet you know.

   im having a similar problem but mine doesnt stutter, it only lacks power at the low down revs.

   wonder if worn piston rings would cause that?

   Mines being doing the same thing, worse when pulling off but does hesitate when driving, i scanned it with the modis and it came up MAP sensor- erased it and it came back after running the engine again so its not a sporadic code, so worth a go

   so what is it sorry i didnt understand ... and yeah its when i pull away that it happens but usually alright when driving in a higher gear but still sometimes happens

   this is still happening im thinking it could be a block hose or somthing like air not getting in or something

    Fixed my problem, it was due to the clutch slipping. after replacing the whle clutch i found out my old clutch plate was almost smoothed out completely.

    hmm sounds interesting could be that ... but id rather check other stuff before replacing a clutch as before i bought the car im sure it had a new clutch anyway

    my saxo vts 1998 has same poor running problem trys to stall when you stop or slow down no power when u pull away you have to floor it or change gear to get it to go idles bad trys to die took it to local citreon dealer and its been there before i bought it for same reason and they cant find whats up ive had changed. o2 sensor,map sensor,coil pack,oil filter &oil,fuel filter,air filter,spark plugs,butter fly valve, battery, new belts pullys was blowin between cylinders 2,3 so head skimmed & new gaskets. nothing shows up on diagnostic check aprt from 02 sensor so changed it been to loads of garages all see the problem but no idea what it is. have heard could be faulty injector/s and or the fuel rail, also the clutch. not changed these yet as ran outta money at the mo from changein all the other stuff so hoping someone colud tell me whats up and save me wastein more cash cheers guys sorry for the long message, lol

    try changing the carb and the idle control valve i had simular problems like that when i got my car turned out it was a cracked carb could be worth a try just get a second hand one from the scrappy or something wont cost much

    also checked my coil pack and plugs they all look as good as i put them in last year ... still not a clue what it could be

    Try the catalytic convertor.mine done all these symptoms and changed the cat and its fine

    Have you checked your inlet manifold. A leak from here or any vacuum pipes can cause these symptoms.
