steering rack

   steering rack on car is leaking pissing flusid out of it
   
   is this an expensive hard job to fix
   
   also what has caused this to go, car is down 60mm at the front could this have played a part in it to go wrong

   are you 100% sure its the rack? very often the power steering pipe gets rubbed through when saxos have been lowered and pee's out near the rack. Either way, rack isn't expensive unless you buy a new one, just a bit fiddly to fit.

   if you take the inlet manifold off then you'll be able to source where it is leaking.
   
   My one burst on my mk1 vts, thought it might have rubbed through but that problem is usually on mk2 saxos so took the inlet manifold off and found the leak was actually coming from behind the unit so one of the pipes/seals/join must have broken/burst.
