VTR wheels not fitting?!?!

   I have an 02 plate VTR. My wheels are a little tainted so I have decided to refurbish them. I have bought a set of VTR wheels on ebay so that I can run on them while mine are being refurbed. The problem is that I went to put these wheels on today and the bolts that fit my wheels perfectly and flush don't rele fit these wheels and there is about half the amount of thread poking through them, as one set has an indent before the taper and the other does not (dunno if that makes sense :-S)
   
   What's the reason for this? Are the wheels on MK1 and MK2's different?

   later mk2 wheels had a taper, early ones and mk1 wheels didn't. There are 2 types of bolt, early bolts are suitable for both types of wheel

   get a cheap set of bolts of any vtr alloys in teh scrappys mate. will cost next to nothing for them

   yh that was wat i was thinking. They're like £20+ on ebay lol. Only want them for a few weeks while my wheels are being refurbed.

   think they're my old wheels, never noticed there was an odd one! when they were on my car they had the earlier bolts which were straight all the way down whereas if yours is an 02 it should have the ones with a taper halfway down I guess? i'll have a look for some bolts in the morning

   seriously lol? That's one hell of a coincidence there! :-P If you could find the bolts that would be great. I sat there for a sec completely confused until I took some measurements. My bolts are straight shanked for about half inch before they taper.

    how many of the straight shank bolts do you need?

    Well I have locking wheel bolts that fit so i wud need 9.
