no lights on dials,! please help! asap!

    Right got a real strange one here, ok, well i started up my car as normal, turned on my lights, and noticed my dials didnt light up, so i though, ah well, probs just a fuse ill checkk it when i get back home. So anyway, was just driving out of my drive, but my foot on the brake, and my dials lit up, brilliant i thought, untill i took my foot off the brake and they went again REALLY ODD!!!! the other thing is my drivers side, rear light and both parkin/side lights dont come on till i put my foot on the brake either!!!
    so the only way for me to see my dials in the dark is for me to have my foot on the brake
    Please can someone help!!!

    My dials stopped lighting up when my top left fuse (5 amp)

    The braking thing is abit odd though

    sounds like an earth isuue to me need to check all the connections on bulb holder and possible the earth connections too

    only thing i can think of is it the break pedals catching on part of the loom if someones been in there fiting an alarm and not put it back right or something like tht, or if somethings cross wired,

    bit of a guess but follow the wireing from ur breaks and see if it comes into contact with the dials loom. failing tht it could just bee a fuse?
