Mine packed in and caused me engine overheat badly, luckly it didnt damage the head gasket.
Can you run a saxo with no thermostat?

#2you can, it will just take longer to heat up. When i say you can, you can for a short while but get it sorted in the near future. Nice and cheap to buy and nice and easy to sort!
-
#3Just buy a new thermostat, they're about a fiver, you will in the long run damage the engine more by running too cold.
-
#4i ran my vtr without one for about 6 months, was fine but heaters are shit, you wont damage your engine running without one really either.
-
#5Engine coolant will never really warm up.
Get one fitted asap -
#6there only like 3quid so not really worth the nonsing about really.
-
#7get one fitted soon, but you will be ok for now to run your car without one
-
#8you'l do more damage than good, the coolant will run cool but the rear cylinders will run hot! the idea of the thermostat is to promote even flow across the entire engine. no thermostat will basically just pump the water round and round the rad and not through the engine.
we see more power on the dyno by running with a thermostat. some engines are very sensitive to it, e.g. vauxhall c20XE, in race trim we see 7bhp gain with a thermostat. thermal efficiency is often overlooked!!

#930% is wasted through cooling. So without a thermostat this figure will increase fro the reason stated above
