1.6 Auto PROBLEM

   Hi, just joined Forum & looking for some HELP !!
   Have a 1.6 auto Saxo, problem is will move in reverse, but not in any forward gears!
   I have checked the fluid level, was overfull, so drained some off to level on dip stick - no change !
   Have since been told that should check fluid level with engine running and in drive, with front wheels chocked obviously, so fluid clutch is filled - sounds reasonable, any comments?
   Want to know if there is an easy fix (Ha Ha) Or is a replacement box the best route ?

   sorry but its a common failing with saxo autoboxes and its either a re-con job on the existing box or a good second hand unit , double check the fluid level first but it sounds like its game over

   how hard is it to convert an auto to manual? im guessing its not as easy as a gearbox change is it?

   driveshafts are unique to autos, gearlinkage would need swapping, flywheel, exhaust downpipe,not sure what else is different, had an autobox out earlier this week and they are just the bits i noticed were different
