  12. #12
i havent had a chance to get under the car yet, you think the chasis will be bent from looking at the pics i have on here?
  13. #13
the boot will need straightening out then welding depends if you know a cheap welder

yeah, thats caused by an accident not lowering have you done an HPI check

    Scrap it imo.
  15. #15
eh yeah the guy where a stay and where the car is sitting is pretty cheap at doing that kind of thing.

and is that 100% accident damage?
  16. #16
scrap it all sell what you can for spares mate
  17. #17
If its mk2 with decent miles and no other problems to the componants id reshell it.
  18. #18
a really was wanting to put this on the road though as the car is in great nick apart from that
  19. #19
    its mk1
  20. #20
i bet if you stripped it you could make at least £500
  21. #21
Either sell it for parts and like Saxovtsmad said get around £500 maybe few ton more.

You could buy a mk2 shell for couple of hundred, fit all of your mk1 parts to it and if its under50k miles on the engine possible worth £1.3k anythig over then between £800-1.5k dodgy market.
  22. #22
thats what i was thinking if its unrepairable i only paid £280 for it
  23. #23
where would i go about to get a shell?
  24. #24
Pistonheads, saxmax and 750club forums sometimes have shells going. Or just buy another car for parts or repair for like £300, say somthing that needs HG and rear beam, then use that shell, sell on the other parts youve aquired from the donor n make a few £.

If youve got the time and want to learn and enjoy working on a car, then the long winded process of gettting a donor car and reshelling will be worth it.

see im at college studying mechanics and that does sound like a good idea just i stay on a main street and dont have any space but what youve suggested makes alot of sense mate
  26. #26
get some advice from someone that knows preferable someone you know that will be honest with out trying to rip you off
also if you decide to buy another car take someone with you that knows their stuff
  27. #27
i could kick myself for not looking in the boot
  28. #28
hammer it back flat and weld a plate into boot same size and seam weld it all way round. just an idea lol . swapping parts would be best option as you learn in process be good for college
  29. #29
cheers mate but would you say its fixable and would that be safe?
  30. #30
why not ask your tutor if you got a donor car and your car if you could do a transfer for you and the other students as a project
  31. #31
it was an urealistic approach mate prob not safe tbh projects are always fun same as saxovtsmad say try get it done through college could be cheeky and ask for funding as well ha
  32. #32
not back to college untill sep and was wanting car on the road before then
  33. #33
would get nothing off my college there so tight lol

i'd say thats dear what you bought it for, bought a mk1 Mauritious saxo with 60k with a leaking rad, and damaged coolent pipes for £180. i don't think its worth it at all to even reshell worth max £700 if repaired. if it was a 2002 mk2 it would be a different story.

cut boot floor out get new boot welded in new axle
  36. #36
will start breaking it when i have the time
