rear passenger side wheel wobbly

   hi just been pulled by the cops great stuff. they went round my car with a smug grin trying to find faults. they rocked drivers backi wheel back and forward towards the arch seemed ok. went round to passenger side and rocked it back and forward again towards arch and it moved a fair way. is it the wheel bearing or axle fooked, because i cant hear a whiring noise when im driving.
   
   anybody else have this problem ????

   cheers for reply shall i jack it up and try again tomorrow. car was on a slight hill as in drivers side was perpendicular to to hill lol. will it be an easy swap over job ? plus i havent sorted my locking wheel nut yet argh

   Got locking nuts removed . Ordered hub and bearing cost 55 should be here Tuesday and I'll swap it over hopefully it will be sorted . Quick question off topic. I got some discs and pads for front but my calipers look huge what size pads do I need as the standard ones font even go into caliper there too small

   had exactly same thing as you mate-took my VTR to c.a.s & the duncan said my n/s prob was the bearings,but my o/s prob was the bearing & stubb pin fucked.goes in thursday to get axle refurb'd/replaced(plus lowered!)

   hi was not wheel bearing . turns out shocks are fooked . gonna get some new ones tommorow cheers

   fitted new shocks as they were absolutely fucked car feels a lot more stable now on back end scary to think i was driving round with it in such a state. when i put car back down off axle stands drivers side was lower than passenger side on back end. ill remeasure it tommorrow morning.

   defo wheel bearing if theres play in the wheel

    i agree-if there's play,its got to be the bearing.cant NOT be the bearing(logically!)and if its not the bearing,then something more must be wrong,than just suspension.doesnt make sense

    is was because the car was on a hill so when the wheel was pulled back and forth in effect it was rocking the the car thus making it look like moving back and forward. when i jacked up the car there was no play but i could grab the wheel and lift it up about 4 inches by hand on both sides. when i took old shocks of oil was seeping out of them badly and i could compress them back abd forward in my ands
