   i see some people have them in the top of the window passenger side
   is that illegal? even if its original plate?

   a number plate has to be attached to the front and rear of the car with no obstructions

   Plates have to be on full view if on the road and not covered windscreen is classed as covered as its reflective and illegal. and needs illuminated at all times during night driving.
   my mate got pulled as his number plate fell off and had just bought a new one he had his in the windscreen driving home,he got 60 pound fine 7 days to fix it
