Chips

  1. #1
Is there any engine chips i can get, heard about them but im not the most technically or clued up person about cars haha
  2. #2
On a furio save your money.
  3. #3
does that mean theres one available ? how would it effect the car ?
  4. #4
if its an ebay chip you are thinking of buying or trying, would you like me to reserve you an engine now? in short, bad news, over-fuelling by large amounts leading to bore wash and oil dilution=kabooom, get sweeping brush out to clear hard shoulder of engine components
  5. #5
I wouldnt look into getting the ecu chipped until you have alot of engine mods e.g. if your car has been cammed, weight stripped, has a manifold full stainless steel exhuast, induction kit and remapped then it would be ok to get a chip but if it only has a back box and 2 bucket seats then I wouldnt bother mate and dont think that those ebay chips will do you any good if you want good performance then fit a 1.6 vtr engine or if you want really good performance then fit a 1.6 16v vts / gti engine. Dont listen to people that say that tuning a furio isnt worth it its your choice they say it about all cars anyway lol. a furio can get good aceleration if you fit a 1.1 box onto it but youll loose top end

btw you wouldn't need a remap for a change in weight of the car

I love chips and curry !
  10. #10
cant beat a good chips and curry, salt and vinegar, and a muffin (if your northern) or a balm or bap (if your gay )
  11. #11
I do have a bit of a penchant for blueberry muffins
  12. #12
where do people get this stupid idea from that you would re-map a car and then chip it? wtf is that about?
  13. #13
Can't beat a good classic chocolate chip muffin. None of this double choc shit. I made the owner of the subway near college go to sainsbury's to buy some muffins for us as they had no chocolate chip lol. We are regulars and we get lots of free cookies and shit. good times.

    Anyway
  14. #14
see, right, Northern Lingo Lesson one.

a muffin to a northerner is a balm or bap or bun, what ever people call it...

    one of these!

  15. #15
    that's a bun, this is a muffin
  16. #16
    that's a biiiiiiig muffin
  17. #17
    OMFG! lol

thats not a muffin, thats what the yanks call them. we call them buns!

the things that you call muffins with chocolate chips are called buns by English people, and the things we put bacon on are muffins.

Yanks say it the other way around, and so do the majority of Brits aswel by the looks of it! Its the whole Chips and Chips thing.. (crisps and chips and fries and chips)

the Americanisation of this country is scary.

i think Northerners are the only English people left! and were mainly Irish!
  18. #18
the supermarkets call them muffins - the thing with the bacon is is a bun. I have my burger in a bun, not a muffin

although, the double bacon McMuffins do come in a sort of bun, but the texture is more muffin like.

    lol, anyway - Chips .....................
  19. #19
I've never called chips fries. That's just silly.
If only northerners could speak proper english they might be the most english people
  20. #20
the things at Mcds are English muffinsd. thats there actual name.

    Now.

You believe everything you read? just coz the "supermarket" say so?

the supermarkets call them muffins to push on the Americanisation of foods. American style foods sell. its big business. they Americanise anything they can, coz it sells.

Money makes the world go round.

you pick up a bag of frozen chicken wings in the supermarket, i guarantee it says "American style" or it has a yanky flag on there...

same with garlic mushrooms, and onion rings!

    the worlds gone crazy!

America has had high level freemasonic marketing guys whoreing its own country out to raise the profile and revenue stream on exported products, to make there produce more appealing to other countries, via TV, movies and music we are pre-determined to like Mcd's, burger king etc, drink coke and so on.

Dont fall into line. think for yourself.

What your mind tells you is right, is right, not those fuckers. your right. think how you want to think. Dont be controlled. Be individual.

We are sovereign human beings, demand more respect. we are not a product to be programmed to do certain things. work 9-5, pay tax, dont kick up a fuss, just get on with what you are told. dont question life. Dont question why you get up and go to work every day, sit in front of the TV and watch the main stream media news, feeding you lies and misleading information (funded by the governments), then watch some reality TV tripe that will numb your mind and dumb you down, so you never ask questions. keep the public entertained so they dont figure out whats going on here.

do you not realise that, from dusk til dawn, we are being programmed?

you egt up and go to work and earn your days wage, then you come home and get bombarded with advertisements on what to spend your money on on the way home, get home, turn on the TV and get mind raped again, for what to spend your wage on. we work for free, money isnt real, we only think it is coz we receive it in exchange for meaningless tasks we have to undertake, and then we give it right back to the government via taxes on the products we have already been pre-determined to buy coz we have been programmed all day by the media.

    oh wait.,.. wrong meeting...

sorry, got a little deep there.
  21. #21
    woooahhhh there
  22. #22
    lol

When i buy something that on the packet says it's a blueberry muffin, I'm thinking for myself that inside is a blueberry muffin and that I'm hungry - if it wasn't i'd take it back.

haven't you been programmed to call them buns instead of muffins though ?

just like we have been programmed to call them muffins ?

I still wouldn't chip my car - just to keep things ontopic

we could get dragged further in to an american/english debte over is it:

    brekkie, lunch, dinner

    or is it

    brekkie, dinner, tea lol

i personally think its brekkie, lunch dinner but this is supposed to be the amercians programming us to call it that as most northerners call lunch, dinner which is just plain wrong... lol

    discuss...
  41. #41
Agreed. When you go out to dinner you don't go for lunch.
  42. #42
    man! dont get me started!!!!

Because on something like my 200sx chipping is a real world and real option. With the 200 you can release another 20-30bhp, make the engine run leaner than the standard Nissan map which overfuels by quite a bit and makes it more economical. Only about £150-200 too

A chip is just a generic map. A remap is tailored to your ecu and your engine. So getting a full remap and then chipping it will be a waste of time and a lot of money spent on the remap.

    DAMN!

ok.. that is the only time that tea is referred to as dinner.

but sayin that, its usually something along the lines of

"so fancy coming out, for a meal of food at tea time?"

so you still say Tea time? or is it dinner time? that could get confusing, as dinner time is 12...

balm. Now that's a stupid word for a roll. You don't rub the bread into your skin when it's dry. Whoever called it that first must have escaped from somewhere

hahaha, well thats the debate around my way.

ahh now, sausage roll, is it a sausage muffin or a pastry treat!?

    now we are gettin deep.

i dont think any1 has ever discussed bready treats in such depth..there are alot of apparent grey areas i didnt know about

and yer, my bad... i am privy to the info of where scotland is situated on the map, just didnt see where u was from... my bad! lol

oh and... READ IT AND WEEP BITCHES!!

    http://www.ovenbottommuffins.co.uk/

    lol

    its a Lancashire thing!

    *Official definition of a muffin*

"To most people in the world, "muffins" are little cakes filled with chocolate or blueberries. There's also what Americans call "English muffins", which are little round bits of bread, rarely seen in England itself.

However, real muffins are actually Lancashire Oven Bottom muffins. These are bread rolls (or "flat pieces of bread" according to my dad) with a blackened ring on top. The most common type is 1" to 2" thick with a light consistency (lighter than bagels but not as light as sliced bread) and a smooth finish. In recent years, these have become available in supermarkets throughout the UK."

    I win?

    discuss/
  66. #66
Sausage roll ie the one on a bap not a batch which is a made up piece of nonsense may also be refered to as a roll on sausage.
  67. #67
That's a bad can of worms to open. It sounds like your ordering something on bulk from the factory or something. A bacon batch would be 3 pallets of bacon
  68. #68
    Surely!

if i went to my local butty shop and asked for 3 bacon batches, he would probably scracth his head and say "that will be £300 please, and have you got an address for the pallets to be delivered to please?"

defo. we as a collective refuse the "batch" to be added intro the satisfactory terminology for the "muffin bap bun roll" list.
  69. #69
Agreed. Court adjourned. Sentence - removal of batch from thread and national recognition as terminology for a bread based food product

WHOAH! A BUN IS A CAKE!

Cup cakes are also referred to as buns... arnt they?
  75. #75
A cup cake is a muffin with icing on top. That's a hot crossed bun, not a cake. A cake must have sugar in it. The only sugar a hot crossed bun has in it is the currants.
  76. #76
NEWTZ07- you say balm is a sothern term, but on big brother Corrin (who is a northerner) says balm and ben (who is a southerner) hadnt heard of a balm beffore and i personally think its an aweful name for a ROLL lol

No, i didnt say that a balm is a southern term, its a northern thing. but its wrong. certain areas of lancashire say balm, and some say muffin.
  93. #93
    My lancashire spin on things.

    Muffin

Tea-cake (as in, "can i have a dabb tea-cake" or "can i have a chip teacake")

My mate from manchester came around to my gaff last year.. went into a local chippy and asked for a "scollop muffin" the lady looked at him like he was foreign and i just laughed and said 'he means a dabb teacake'.

    Also it goes

    Breakfast, Dinner, Tea, Supper.

And if anyone argues with that, i ask you two questions.

    1. When you was at primary school, what were the ladies called that worked in the kitchens?
    2. What bell used to ring at 'dinner' time?

Btw i'm from near Accrington, you may of heard of the famous 'Accrington Stanley'.

Dabb tea cake, that's not a cake it's a roll.
