Seems like my MAP sensor does nothing when i unplug it. its the same as when its plugged in - is the sensor buggered?
MAP sensor quickie
-
#1
-
#2They only take readings at certain times, so unlikely it will make any difference when unplugged whilst sat idling.
-
#4When the car is started, at high engine speeds, at varying engine speeds.etc. etc. It doesn't constantly read the pressure.
-
#5If the engine doesn't change when it's unplugged I'd say it's buggered
-
#6How does the engine run when it's plugged in?
-
#7Or the ecu could of seen the fault and reverted to a known value of that sensor not all ecus put the fault light on best get it pluged in and that will tell u for sure
-
#8when you unplug it the engine should hunt around a lot in my experience
-
#9I second that check the wireing its a common thing
-
#10It was only on idle when the map sensor was unplugged and it made absoloutely no difference at standstill. Not too sure if this is the cause of my flatspot?
mine doesnt hunt with it unplugged when idling. -
#11I'd look to test the wiring and maybe borrow a MAP sensor that you know is 100% working to see if anything changes with how the car feels
