wtf is wrong with my brakes???????

3rd disk now on my passenger front side..... ive changed the disk again as it kept warping the disk and i have also changed the caliper as well and made sure it all moved how it should before i fitted it but a few miles later and its warped again, theres abiof judder from that side and creaking noise,i had a mechanic look at it and its puzzled him to what it is thats making the noise and why it keeps warping.
now ive come to the conclusion that before i bought the car it must have been kerbed quiet hard as the bumper is damaged and the rear wheel slightly leans out so im wondering if theres a chance the hub is bent as before i put the car down i spun the wheel and the disk slighty scuffed the pads at a certain point. when i had the car lowwerd i asked the gaage to have a good look round the car see if they could work out why there was a creaking noise coming from the front passenger side and they said every thing felt ok and didnt no what it was the bearings are ok the ball joints ok the shockers ok every thing on this side seems ok but theres something not right and its starting to piss me off so any ideas what this could be so am not replaceing every thing?? and instead of buyin unwanted parts i can buy some well needed

When u fit the disks do you check for run out?
Do you clean the face of the hub up before fitting the disk?

hubs aint cheap either just rang moto factor qouted me 60 quid for one rear hub. does anyone know someone with a second hand for sale by any chance. mines threaded

Hubs are part of the suspension strut

do what swampy said that's the way delphi trained me to do it in collage.
Clean the flange up so its nice and clean DO NOT USE COPPER GREASE on the flange as this causes disk run out.

its all clean wire brushed them down so there like new, only other option i have is to swap the suspension leg with a good spare i have and see if it is the hub thats knackered, oh another thing is just after i bought the car the spring snapped but its been replaced with new springs on the front now which still leads me to belive the leg has took sum impact before i bought it

think you might be better off looking round scrap yards pal not too sure if you could take it off another citroen or pug car like a 306 etc might be a good idea to take urs off and compare it with 1 off a scrap car see if its the same

rang about every scrap yard and all the vtrs breaking on ebay none were willing to take the hub off the axle. and the ones that did wanted 40 quid for it. thinkin about helicoiling or rethread if it works for now bit skint. would helicoiln be strong enough tho?

306 ones are different. springs usually snap dont mean there's been any damage. any sign of damage on the hub?

bit of a long shot mate but have you had a look at you brake adjustment rod?? if they are to tight it will cause the pads to rub on the discs and cause it to warp, just an idea mate

    question,
whats disk run out? and i thought you were supposed to put copper grease on the hub before putting the disk on.......

i would just replace the whole strut and hub assemby with one from a decent car, and see if the problem persists

I have the same problem but the brake disc problem is on the drivers side (replaced once and started to warp after 2000 miles) and the creaking noise which happens when I turn the wheel when vehicle is going slow or when it goes over a big bump like a speed bump comes from the passenger side. This tells me the two problems are unrelated but still very annoying.

I read on this forum the creaking could be coming from lower suspension arm ball joints? Could anything else be causing this?? It sounds like a creaking ship or old wodden house. lol

What is the most common cause for discs continually warping??

OP- is your full stop button broke?

I suggest you check your hub. Deffo sounds like the problem to me. If you're not willing to pay the price for what they cost then just carry on buying new discs every weekend...

But as said, it'll work out cheaper and easier to get a full leg from someone. I have one at home with all good bearings, hub etc. Just not sure if it's the drivers or passengers side off the top of my head. I will check after work.

Long shot but maybe it's the piston in the caliper sticking or something holding the brake on constantly, causing massive heat in the disc and warping it.
