vents no more!

    hello everyone

    i was looking at some of the progress threads and i seen some people have removed the vents on the center console and have coverd it over flush somhow how is this done ? as i would like to fit gauges in there or SatNav

    I'm sure this is done by fibreglassing the area you want flush. Have no idea how to do it and also wouldn't attempt myself as I'm paranoid haha, but I'm sure there will be guides somewhere.

    best way to do it is by plastic welding in a section of plastic and then abit of filler

    easy if you know what your doing, i could knock one up in about an hour or 2

    I bought some acrylic off ebay for £4 amd cut it to shaped after removing the vents. Then glued it in.

    you can put anything on there mate.

    fan over ride
    push start
    window switches
    any gauge - voltmeter, rev counter, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp

    i once cut a piece of aluminium to fit in where the buttons go and swaped the hazzards and window heater to flick switches and added in a couple more for other things, looked really good

    Intresting would like do do this sounds like i could look the shizz up there with the gauges how did you do this ? where do you get those flip switches ? :s been looking but cant find the feckers

    halfruads sell them mate. most motor shop do aswel. only a couple of quid which is a bonus.
