Black Bumpers...

    i would like to change the black plastic door panels and black pieces on the bumpers to a gloss black or white... but how would i do that.? what type of paint would i need so it sticks to the plastic properly? x

    people use sand paper on the bumpers and then 3 layers of primer, paint and lacquer

    dont use normal primer it will flake and fall off sand down and use plastic primer then paint etc

    also to get a better finish your best off removing the trims and bumpers, you dont need to but i found you get a better finish if the trims are laying flat, reduces the chance of any runs in the paint , and remember several lighter coats are better than one or two heavy coats

    they take alot of prep work to remove the texture and to get a good job

    do the black trims just clip off, even the bumper bits.?

    the bump strips on the side can be removed but the ones on the bumper are attached to the bumper so your going to have to remove the bumpers

    Exactly what i would do as im soo lazy, but is good to have a crack yourself and doesnt seem too difficult just have to be patient, having said that im not going to have a pop at it
