Saxo VTR Engine Issues! HELP!!!

   so i bought my saxo a week ago now. and suddenly the engine is starting to sound pretty rough:
   
   1. when i dip the clutch and go to change gear i get a high pitched squeak
   
   2. the engine seems to be rattling and sounds really odd and poor.
   
   i just wondered whether anyone here would/might know what it is, i know basic (Very very very Basic) stuff about cars but this has me baffled!

   Try oiling the clutch arm on the gearbox, mine squeaked, I put some WD40 on it and that fixed it. The rattling could be anything it depends what kind. Could be something loose or Tappets, or a belt... We need more info mate

   I had a odd rattle, could be one of the brackets that connect the gearbox casing to the exhaust, it was with mine. turn if on and have a look under.

   vtr... how could it be tappets?

   They work loose lol... VTS have Hydraulic ones but not VTR's.

   yer i no, just forked out for a set for vts haha, thought vtr didt have them as such?

   Yep VTR's do, same a 1.1 Engine but with bigger pistons... VTR's have normal Tappets, VTS's have Hydraulic Tappets that you can't adjust.
