Speedo Tempermental

   mk2 vts on emerald k3, 3 plugger.
   
   speedo has just decided that it wont work some times
   
   anyone any ideas?
   
   going to see if i can try some other clocks in car to see if its that
   
   but other than that any other ideas? does the speedo go though the ecu? im sure that something with the 3 plugs is that it runs from ecu or something along those lines?

   I'm pretty sure the dash takes the speed straight from the 'worm drive' sensor on the back of the gearbox just below the starter motor

   so you think a sensor could be gone? got any pics mate of where abouts it is?

   On my civic i replaced the clocks and it fixed the problem. But the speed drive senson on the box could be faulty. Another cause can be dodgy wiring or any shorts can cause speedo problems.
