Spraying MK1 headlight inserts!

  1. #1
    Hi,

i wanted to do this, but i have no clue how.

i have a spare pair of headlights, so tried removing the glass last night... but couldnt do it. just ended up cutting my hands.

    any nack to doing this?

i noticed there are small silver clips all around, what apear to be holding the glass on, but i removed these and still wouldnt come apart.

    any ideas?

i have searched and couldnt find anything

Hair dryer, melts the glue so you can pull the glass off.

    hahahaha... no freaking way!

so all this time i have been trying to pull them apart, sliced my hands open, and all i needed to do was heat the glue up!

    thanks

Just spray the silver edging mate, I'm doing mine literally now, just waiting for paint to dry so I can lacquer. I'll put some pics up tomorrow on my progress thread if you want to check em out.

will look exactly the same and the gloss black doesn't need a protective coat (lacquer) because its sealed in the lights

Yer, the laquer protects, and there inside a sealed unit. so thats cool.

will look out for the progress thread as i am curious to what it actually looks like on a saxo
