my car conked other day and it wont start the belt on the alternator will move but thats it my starter motor was abit dodgy but it started working properly again that was a couple of weeks before it broke down any ideas
  2. #2
use full stops. everything will fix itself after that.
  3. #3
funny only wanted some help full stop.
  4. #4
    Does it try to start?

    or is there just nothing?

    could be the starter motor.

what actually happened. details are a clue to some1 trying to figure your problem out.

And yer, a little grammer here and there goes a long way!

was driving home and it just conked but it stopped its self not dead but sudden and it made some crunching noise's then after that it would not do anything had to be towed home was told it could be cambelt, pistons but they all look fine when i start the car it does not do anything the belt just goes round.

do the camshafts go round when you turn it over? Does the crankshaft go round when you turn it over.

    maybe woodruff key gone

not looked to be honest ill have a look later its raining at the moment whats a woodcruff key? lol
  8. #8
well if the cam belt may of snapped, why dont you look if the cam belt has snapped?

i have no clue where it is on a saxo. but surely its gotta be easy to look for
  9. #9
already checked as i said all looks fine thats why im stumped at what it is
  10. #10
when you turn the engine over on starter can you 100% see the cambelt moving? 100% see the camshafts moving? 100% see the crankshaft moving.

Tbh I'd not turn it over and take it to a garage.

Without sounding rude, if you don't know what a woodruff key is then it's not the sort of thing you should repair/diagnose. It's generally a little bit of metal, that keeps the a pulley in a specific position on a shaft,
