Need more "bite" from my brakes

i had a serch but couldnt find much info, mabie im blind. basically im after more "bite" from my brakes, currently running 247mm calipers with drilled and grooved front discs, only standard pads though.

Would uprating my brake pads to the likes of m1144's carbon lorraines do the job, or will i need a set of 406 bermbo's or similar? I only ask as i cant see a set of pads making a world of difference too be honest.

    Any advice welcome.

what you will get from running something like the CL Brakes range is the initial bite will be greater as their friction co-efficient is far greater, even at low temps. Standard oe friction materials they are very progressive and help give a smooth boring ride
Dont run them with drilled and grooved discs though as you will get increased wear.

EBC yellow stuff give awesome value for money

Braided lines, 23mm master cylinder and ds2500 then you'll have bite

tidy, cheers for the advide. Im only using the discs as they where on the car when i bought it, i understand there only of any use if the brakes overheat alot which isnt a issue as my car will be used vary rarely on track.

Wouldn't a 23mm m/c with standard calipers mean that as soon as i touched the brakes they'd be on pretty solid? i.e not much modulation?

edit: just had a look at those pads kam, there very pricy when compared to oem spec pads, are they really that much better?

Yes it would be a solid pedal but try braided lines before you buy pads IMO then go pads

unless the standard hoses are worn then there is little or no gain from fitting braided hoses other than the extra protection from debris and the elements, or you want a visual enhancement.

the CL brake pads are head and shoulders above OE pads. Sadly the benefits come at a cost financially, but they have much increased friction levels whether they are cold or 800 degrees. Best run on plain discs or ones with grooves that do not go to the edge of the disc though.
