Do you use lacquer?

    Hey,

I'm currently spraying various parts of my interior/dash. I've been using several layers of primer and then layering up spray paint. Looks quite good, however should I be adding lacquer as well?

Do you guys use lacquer on sprayed interior? Is it down to personal preference or should it definitely be used every time?

    Cheers

Lacqure is to be used on everthing for added protection but it will make it shiny

    I'm spraying using cherry red.

To be honest I think I prefer it how it is without lacquer as it kindof looks matt and suits the dash better. Will the paint come off easily if I don't apply lacquer to it? Say I scrape it with my finger or something whilst adjusting my head unit or dials?

I just sprayed my centre console and heater vents yesterday after refurbing my cousins alloys. I went for 3 coats of grey primer, 6 light coats of Silver spray and 3 coats of lacquer, I wanted the shiny look plus it adds more protection. If you like the matt look you could do what I did to the alloys, that was 6 coats of Matt Black and 1 coat of lacquer, not sure if this affects the outcome in anyway but this left the finish matt and not shiny but you could feel the protection.

I'll give that ago then. I'll add a few more coats and then finish with one coat of lacquer. Thanks
