421 Manifold and alternator

  1. #1
Yesterday i fitted my 421 manifold on my car, i think its Raceland, ive got it heat wrapped too.
Now ive just got 2 questions.

    1. Should the mani be virtually touching the alternator? and what can i do to give it some clearence to save the alrternator and its wiring. As when i started the car up after a while it started smoking

    2. My car is a Mk2 vts, so had two lamba sensors. This manifold i have has a lamba right near where it joins the centre section, this connector doesnt reach all the way to the bay to connect into the clip in there, and seems slightly different to the second lamba connector under the car. Does this mean i must extend the lamba wiring to reach into the bay and then connect the second up to read fresh air? Or can i leave the second lamba sensor uncoupled?

    Cheers in advance. Matt

Is the manifold connected correctly, if its drooping it could end up closer than it should be

hi i had same problem with manifold. unclip the bracket where it was originally attached next to engine and pull wires back a bit from loom. then put wires round back of the engine. if that makes sense lol

yes all is fitted fine, to my knowledge, all bolts are in and gearbox bolt is in, i tried to move up but this bolts on the block stop this from moving to much.
