power staying on? battery light on continuously?

   on my vtr the electric is constantly on even when key is out so the wipers can work without the key#
   and the battery light remains on? any ideas people

   sounds like a short, check earths, could also be the ignition barrell be careful aswell as it may drain battery over time.
