#1
-
#2Don't need bodies with bp285s
-
#3ok thnxs are they my best option or not
-
#4Best option for what?!
-
#5are they good cams or should i get diffrent ones with a smaler power band
-
#6well at the end of the day its down to you whats best for you, and how your gonna use your car
-
#7well not gonna rag the car a lot but i want sumthin that will give me a good gain
-
#8well tbh i only really now about newmans cams and the ph3 is the "best" you can have with standard pistons and inlet manifold, if you got the ph4's or ph5's you need your pistons pocketing or buy forged pistons and to get the most out of them you would want (but not need) throttle bodies but on ph5's you would have no low down power and have a shit idle but would pull like a mother fucker higher up the rev range
-
#9ok thanks the only thing is the power band is abit to hight but will that make a lot of diffrence or not
-
#10get the piper cams then.... power band will be abit higher than the standard most likly peak about 7k.... so be ok.
-
#11so the piper 285 are the best cams to get then
-
#12best for what ?
-
#13for power gain but run normal day use and if i got cams would a need the cam kit my car has done 80k so waz thinkin mite need new pulleys and uprated valves springs
-
#14you have to think all cams have a trade off in one area of the rev range to get a gian elsewhere. The ph3s or catcam 708's be best for a daily driver with minimal trade off in pre 4k torque . The ph4/5s as mentioned really need solid lifters/pocketed pistons and throttle bodies to maintain drivability especially on a road based car,
