Quick Question about BMC CDA induction

  1. #1
    Hello all

Quick couple of questions about the BMC CDA induction kit:

    1. Is it easier to fit than the Raceland enclosed kit (IE does anything in the engine need to be moved such as power steering reservoir etc)

    2. From a few pictures of peoples engine bays, am I correct in thinking there is no connection for what I think is the oil breather pipe? If so whats the fix for that?

    Thanks in advance

id say its easier to fit my mate just has a 90 degree bend on his so it takes 30 seconds to fit, basically takes as long as it takes to do the screw up on the jubilee clip lol and you can use a oil catch tank to connect to the breather pipe or just use a breather filter

Thanks for the advice jeff, although I do have to ask what is an oil catch tank??? Never heard of them before lol. Also does using a breather filter cause any problems etc with that pipe?? It just seems a bit weird that they come fitted to the standard airbox and then the new induction kit doesnt connect to it

It's a tank that catches the oil, you can buy one and you just plug the pipe into one of the tubes or you can get a red bull can and just poke the pipe through the top

As said above just diy a catch tank I use a red bull can. The oil breather just recurculates a small amount of oil back into the engine through the inlet there will be no bad out come from using a catch tank

as already said the catch tank is just a little tank you secure somewhere in your engine bay and you run a pipe from the cam cover to the catch tank really simple to fit they look better than just shoving a breather filter on the end of the pipe but obviously costs more so your choice mate
    heres a few examples

Ah i see, I will say I do quite prefer that idea over just having a filter floating around, I noticed the tanks have 2 holes, is one for the pipe and the other for a filter, or does the second hole just stay open??? May have to get one of those!!

yea u just shove a filter on the other pipe

They usually have a filter on top and you can leave the second hole or plug it

ive got a green oil breather on mine and its making a right mess around my body and throttle cable i think am goin get a catch tank tbh sick of wiping oil off evrything :\
