Harnesses, 3 or 4 point, which buckle?

  1. #1
Currently have some 3 points but looking for a change.

Have a cage but unfortunately it doesn't have a harness bar (might have to see if I can get one welded in).

    Whats best, 3 or 4?
With 4 I'm thinking if i use the old seatbelt points at the rear the angles wouldn't be great and the straps would keep sliding of my shoulder.

Are all aircraft style buckles an mot fail?
My buckets have a crotch strap hole so should i use it?

im not too sure about the m.o.t fail but id say 4 point imo
  3. #3
Personally I'd go for 4 point (partly because they look better), with a 3" strap, and a normal buckle (afaik, there's only OMP and one other company that make them (possibly Willans)), as aircraft buckles are annoying to do and undo all the time.

As for 5th strap, maybe worth getting one, and tucking it under the seat when you're on the road, and then using it when you're on track etc.
