   can anyone help me,
   
   i wanted to get this BMC induction kit

   but then my bro was talking to me saying wats the point in gettin such a expensive one, wen u can get just a cone filter for about £100 cheaper
   
   what does that induction kit do that a cone filter wont?

   a cone filter on its own will suffer from heatsoak so it will be worse preformance wise than the standard airbox. The BMC might be slightly ovepriced because of the brand name but will be far better than a cone filter.

   If your looking at cost would be worth looking at panel filters and a good cold air feed (y)

   the bmc with the appropiate cold air feed will supply only cold air to the engine but with a standard cone filter it sucks air from 360 degree so inevitably some of that air will be coming straight from the engine reigon and be hot. you can counter this problem with a heat shield but again its not going to be a good as enclosed unit.
