Fitting a new rear axel

  1. #1
I've searched but not a huge amount comes up. Basically i'm getting a recon rear axel for the vts soon, and just want to know a rough process of going about changing it. Things to look out for, any tips etc.

If someone could do this I would be very gratefull as need to get it all done before mot time the end of this month.

    cheers

    Hi mate

I see you live in Kent, PM Noddy as he fitted mine a few days back and did a cracking job .

Its not as hard as I thought it would be but would advise getting someone else to do it if your unsure.

    Hope that helps

Hey Chris, Hows it going mate, hope your still enjoying the Compomotives.

Ive changed over my brothers rear beam on his 106 rallye. and was fairly easy.

Just make sure you disconnect the brake lines which will go into your condensor on the rear beam. and then remove hand brake cables. i found this easiest removing them from the calipers then just leave them dangeling down from underneath the car. then just go inside your boot and undo the 4 bolts. then i used a trolley jack and supported the rear beam will i lowered the jack then you might have to give the ream beam a bit of a Nudge so it comes off the Fuel tank sometimes it gets stuck there you just have to pull it out and then lower jack and job done.

If you need any help give me a shout. More then happy to help mate.

    Thanks
