Best exhaust choice?

   i Currenlty have a full stainless 4-2-1 de-cat system on my vts. had my MOT this week a put the cat back on a noticed a massive gain in power. i put my vts up against my pals vts that has the same exhaust. before the cat was put back on both the cars were practicly the same. but we went for a drive yesterday and with the cat on he couldnt touch me and i could easy pull past him.
   
   any ideas why this is as i thought it would be more choked up and less power full. so i am now looking for a exhaust system that will give me the best power gains and good value for money.

   I've just fitted a saxsport and have to say I'm very happy with it so far!

   With regards to performance is it better to have a middle silencer or is it better to have a pipe straight through to back box from manifold, i'm unsure what to do?

   Kam racing system.
   
   full stainless and its the lightest system you can get for the paxo. iirc.

   thanks for surgestions. also i duno what to do about the cat issue
