hanbrake

   hi my handbrake only go's up 3 clicks and then it's postion is right at the top. I live on a really steep bank and it doesn't hold. I leave it in gear which helps. any ideas wot's wrong is it a matter of adjusting the handbrake or is it something else.

   The cable has a tendency to stretch. It is adjusted with a nut underneath the car. But be careful as it's common for them to stretch so much they snap. Might be worth checking your rear brakes too. I recently found my rear pads seized open. So had no rear brakes!

   had new pads on not so long ago on rear so will have a look at cables then when it stops raining.

   if its stretched it would go up more than three clicks
