weird whine

    friends VTS having problems

    first of all
    its not cambelt or box

    it whines when i accelerate
    if i let off the accelerator it doesnt whine.
    its a high pitched whine.

    it only whines when im on a motorway(well when i can hear it)

    it only makes the noise uner acceleration/holding it at constant speed
    if i let off and leave in gear its fine.

    how do you know its not the cambelt or box?? it may be the cambelt tensioners or the altenator but I would of said it was the box tbh......
